Dovercourt Low Lighthouse Essex - Built in 1863 this is the Low Lighthouse in Dovercourt on the Essex Coastline. The lights behind are of a tanker comeing into the dock, so it was kinda doing its job. This and the High Lighthouse, which is on the shore, used to make for a safe passage into Harwich and Felixstow docks. They stopped being used in 1917 and were restored in 1988. The orangey glow to the left is light pollution from the nearby docks.
The Milky Way over The Black Hut. Rye Harbour. Sussex - This is one frame from a time lapse that started at 10pm in the evening and went through until 4 am. I made a whole bunch of 30 second exposures and this is what goes on in that time. Planes, satellites, comets, the works. All while we are sleeping.
